Specifying the  box  and feel an speech of a web page is the job of  cascading style sheets(CSS). Let’s Troubleshoot

Have you ever thought that you can repair your computer yourself? Just give it a thought on your mind and you can be able to troubleshoot any problems in your computer because you always have got one thing that is able to solve all the problems: GOOGLE isn’t it?

I am not a Professional; I do the same as you people do. But when I have one problem in my PC, I am curious to find other problems. Because of this curiosity, I thought why not learn about troubleshooting. So, I learnt some basic hardware troubleshooting that I would like to share with you all.

Do you know that most of the problems in the computers can be fixed by disassembling and assembling them? These types of problems are basically due to loose plugging and cabling. Just don’t hesitate to open your PC cause you might be spending a lot of money on simple problems and issues. I have given a small list of problems in your computer just check it out:

1.       First, check whether you have plugged the cable properly or not. Then also think about the voltage problem in the PC. Next thing you can do is check the computer fan and SMPS (switched-mode power supply) if it doesn’t work try replacing it.

2.       If there is no display on the screen but CPU is working, then the problem might be with the VGA (Video Graphics Array) cable, VGA adapter or the monitor try to unplug and plug the cable or change it. If the monitor is not opening, then it might be the monitor problem else it might be the other problem. Also check the monitor settings this might sometime make you feel like it’s a big hardware problem.

3.       The computer starts but reboots randomly this might be caused because of several problems but just try to troubleshoot in a process and you will be able to find the actual fault. Check whether the computer passes the memory test or not, if not, check the RAM and the RAM slots, try replacing the slots. You may also use eraser to clean your RAM.

4.       The computer starts and passes the memory test but has a problem in loading the OS then it might be a software problem. Also you can solve the problems like missing NTLDR or any kind of system file try replacing the file with your OS CD or try reinstalling the OS. If you are unable to install the OS then the problem might be with your hard disk, try replacing the hard disk cable and also check whether the hard disk works in another PC or not if it works the problem is with the motherboard’s hard disk slot. Try repairing your hard disk using disk repairing CD or replace it.

5.       The computer opens but it is slow or freezes. The main defect in this problem is due to software. Just try to use several process to remove virus or malwares, also use utilities to defrag registry, hard disk etc and check them properly if not try reinstalling the OS. If the problem persists, try checking hard disk, CPU and RAM.

6.       The computer overheats. The problem is usually occurring due to the CPU.  Try to check the heat sink paste on the CPU if less clean then put new paste else check other parts like RAM, video cards and try replacing them.

These might be a simpler problem in your PC which you can easily troubleshoot. But Safety is the most important thing before you touch any electric objects. Don’t be clever enough to open parts while you are plugged in and please keep patience while working them or you might create double problems.

1.     Sir Timothy John "Tim" Berners-Lee is a British computer scientist who invented the World Wide Web.

2.     Timothy John Berners Lee was born on 8 June 1955. He grew up in London. He studied physics at Oxford University (While at Oxford University, he was caught hacking with a friend and was banned from using the university computer) and became a software engineer.

3.     After graduation, he worked at Plessey Telecommunications from 1976 as a programmer and In December 1980, while working at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva, he first described the concept of a global system, based on the concept of 'hypertext', that would allow researchers anywhere to share information. He also built a prototype called 'Enquire'.

4.     In 1984, Berners Lee's returned to CERN on a full-time basis, in 1989, CERN was the largest internet node in Europe. In the same year, Berners Lee published a paper called 'Information Management: A Proposal' in which he connected hypertext with the Internet to create a system for sharing and distributing information. He named it the World Wide Web.

5.     He also created the first web browser and editor. The world's first website http://info.cern.ch was built at CERN on 6 August 1991.                                          

The first web page address was http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html. It explained the World Wide Web concept and gave users an introduction to getting started with their own websites.

6.  In 1994, Berners Lee founded the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. He has served as director of the consortium since then. He has also served as a patron of the East Dorset Heritage Trust. He has also worked as a senior research scientist at LCS (Laboratory of Computer Science, MIT) which has now become the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

7.     Berners Lee has received many honors. In 1994 he became one of the six members of the World Wide Web Hall of fame. And right after one year he won the Kilby Foundation’s “Young Innovator of the Year” Award. In 1999 Time Magazine named him one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20^th Century. He was also named in BBC’s list of the 100 Greatest Britons in 2002. He was also inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame by the Internet Society in 2012.

Today’s world is the world of technology. And mainly it is the world of information technology. Before proceeding to the topic, I would like to give a small Introduction to Information Technology. Information Technology is that technology through which the information is processed, communicated, exhibited and retrieved. Information technology includes both telecommunication and Computer Technology.

In today’s world, almost every minute new technology and inventions are being made in the area of information, processing and travelling. Almost every field in today’s modern world includes IT in a direct or an indirect way. Thus, we can say every field that exists today is more or less accustomed to Information Technology. Information Technology has made our world a global village.

Nowadays, any information can be exchanged by people in few seconds in proper, effective and convenient way. In one way the telecommunication has enlarged the efficiency of the information exchange and in other way, the advancement in technology has made many things possible which were impossible previously.

All this has been possible due to information technology with the aid of devices such as telephone, fax, telex, computers, Internet, e-mail, photocopier, printer, scanner, cellular phones, pagers, videophone, digital camera, multimedia, etc.These technologies are becoming a part of our lives and are transforming lifestyles and habits of people all over the world today.

The use of computers has increased by leaps and bounds worldwide. Internet and multimedia have now become accessible to almost all people. The internet has brought a drastic change in every field of the world. So, the government has allowed private companies to provide Internet services to people in order to boost up Information Technology.

The Internet has increased the amount of buying and selling power in the hands of all those within a keystroke distance of a computer. Never in the history of commerce have solitary buyers and sellers been able to engage so effortlessly in commerce on all points whether one is a scrap dealer or a collector with an obsession for antiques, the internet is a solution.

Digital technology is playing a vital role in our day to day life. In supermarkets it is helping for faster processing of Bills. In the field of agriculture, a digital moisture meter records the moisture in the soil and tells when harvesting should be started. For people, who are suffering from loss of hearing, digital technology is of great help. It processes sounds that reduces noise, improves clarity of speech and controls unwanted loudness.

So, information technology has been so powerful and essential nowadays. But the manpower here in our country is insufficient. So government has launched different courses related to Information technology but it is not sufficient. Government has to provide the environment too for the launching of the IT in many fields. Many of the offices are running with the old fashioned system even today. So government should implement IT in these fields and produce skill manpower too.

The world of sport is continually changing over the years, and the use of technology is just one of those areas that have made an impact on many sports in the modern day. One criticism of the use of technology is that it can slow down the speed of the game, but on the other hand for many people it makes watching it more enjoyable to see the correct decisions being made.

Here, I want to have a little talk about Goal line technology.

Goal-line technology is a method used to determine when the ball has completely crossed the goal line with the assistance of electronic devices and at the same time assisting the referee in calling a goal or not. Not to replace the role of the officials, but rather to support them in their decision-making.

The inclusion of goal-line technology began to be raised in 2000 as a result of a penalty shootout during that year's Africa cup of nations final, when Victor Ikpebas penalty for Nigeria against Cameroon was deemed by the referee not to have crossed the line after deflecting off the crossbar. To the contrary, television replays showed that it had. Cameroon went on to win the shootout and thus the Trophy of African Unity. There's nothing more infuriating than seeing your team robbed by an incorrect decision by a referee or linesman.

One facet of football (soccer) where such mistakes routinely happen is where the ball hits the bar and bounces down on the line. The question the officials are faced with is which side of the line did it bounce down onto? I have sympathy for linesmen who are faced with making a split judgment from a distance, but having sympathy is not the same as saying that nothing should be done to reduce instances of wrong decisions.

Well talking of recent blunders of not having a goal line technology was Frank Lampard's disallowed goal in the world cup quarter final against Germany. If there was any doubt that the referee made the wrong decision in disallowing Frank Lampard's World Cup goal today, virals sweeping the internet have put it to rest.

Within hours of England's disastrous 4-1 loss, the internet was awash with references to the controversial decision, including one doctored image featuring a white line showing just how far the ball had made it past the goal posts. Another prankster on social networking site Twitter, with a user name of 'Queen UK', tweeted: ‘Find out where that referee is from. And get MI6 on the phone.'

As so, the technology was successfully trialed by Fifa at the 2012 Club World Cup and the Premier League says it is in advanced talks with two unnamed providers. Hawk-Eye and GoalRef were both used at last year's Club World Cup, but the Premier League has not named the companies it is in talks with.

Fifa has already said it plans to use the technology at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Yes, there has recently been a cyber attack which was targeted at 2 major South Korean banks and some top TV broadcasters. On Tuesday March 20th the screens of the victimized computers went blank at 2 p.m. local time. This attack resulted in crash of computer networks and paralyzing several bank machines across the country. Although the systems at the South Korean military were not affected, the army raised its defense level amid the situations.

Suspicion over the attack is clearly focused on North Korea, as Pyongyang had threatened Seoul with attack in recent days. But South Korea says an initial investigation showed a Chinese internet address was the source of a cyber attack on one of the companies shut down by computer crashes. One of the telecom regulator also commented on the attack stating that a Chinese address created the malicious code in the server of one of the banks, NongHyup, that crashed on Wednesday. Many experts around the world believe hackers often launch attacks via computers in other countries in an attempt to keep their identities from being exposed. With a quick act of the government, regulators distributed vaccine software to government offices, banks, hospitals and other institutions to prevent more outages. 

Several days before the attack North Korea had accused South Korea and the US of staging a cyber attack that shut down its websites for two days the week before. Well, North Korea has staged several cyber attacks targeting South Korea and U.S. institutions since 2009. Major ones include the 2011 attack which knocked out South Korean servers at banks, conservative newspapers & institutions and the 2009 attacks that brought down US government sites. But Pyongyang has been denying the attacks.

A Google glass is a wearable computer with a head mounted display (HMD) that is being developed by Google in the project glass research and development project.

It is based on Google Android Technology. It uses wireless technology to browse internet in glass. It can snap photos, shoot videos and display direction like a tablet.

You don’t have to read or write email in Google Glass. When an email arrives, the image of the sender along with the subject pops up on the screen of the Google glass. In order to reply to e-mail user will only have to say the words and the device will type them using voice recognition.
