Touch Screen Technology

A touch screen is an electronic visual display screen that the user can control the screen with simple or multi-touch gesture by touching the screen with one or more fingers or with the help of stylus. Touch screen is sensitive to the touch of our fingers. The touch screen helps the user to interact directly with what  is displayed on the screen rather than using mouse, touch pad or any kind of intermediate device other than stylus .We can use the touch screen to react what is displayed and control how it is displayed.

The main three components used in the touch screen are touch sensor panel, the controller and software. The touch sensor panel consist of a touch responsive surface. The censor have an electrical current running through it, when touching the screen causes a voltage change which gives the location of the touch.

The controller is the hardware which changes the voltage change on the sensor into signals that other device or computer can receive. Software tells the computer ,smart phone, etc what is happening  on sensor and the information provided by controller. This helps to react accordingly.

Touch screen technology is widely used in heavy industry as well as in medical field. But now days this technology are common in device such as smart phone , tablet computers, ATM machines etc.
